How to grow Microgreens with Indoor Grow Kit with Light
Growing microgreens with indoor grow kit with light is organic and also low cost. The most important thing is easy.
The steps of grow seedlings
Tools Needed:
A: lamp body, support light for seedling
B: hydroponic tank, used to provide moisture to the seeds
C: tray, seed support
D: dome, high humidity is required for seed germination
E: cotton cloth (special paper), seeds provide moisture
F: seeds
How to grow?
1. Placing the plastic tray on the hydroponic tank, and put the tank on the base of lamp body
2. Pouring water into the tank until the tray is just soaked in the water, not too much water
3. Placing the pad on the tray
4. Put the seeds evenly on the cotton cloth(special paper) and cover the Domes, pls note not overlapping seeds
5. Plugging in and turning on light
6. Sprouting( when seeds sprout out, remove the dome)
7. Harvest
At present, several sprouts are more common in the market: mung bean sprouts, soybean sprouts, black bean sprouts, peanut sprouts, radish, sprouts pea sprouts, toon sprouts, pine willow sprouts, water spinach sprouts, etc.
Microgreens can be divided into two categories:
1.Need light sprouts
germination in the dark room in the early stage, and turn green in the later stage under light.
Broccoli sprouts, kale sprouts, purple kohlrabi sprouts, arugula sprouts, red and green cabbage sprouts, all kinds of radish sprouts (carrots are not allowed), pea sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, black bean sprouts, wheat, barley, oats, etc.,
2.No light sprouts
dark room growth, until harvest, always yellow color
bean sprouts, mung bean sprouts, yellow bean sprouts, red bean sprouts, etc.
Planting conditions
1.Temperature requirements:
The germination room should be controlled at 20-25°C, and the cultivation room at 16-25°C.
2.Lighting requirements:
maintain proper lighting. Indoor grow lights are good solutions.
3.Ventilation requirements:
There must be ventilation facilities, which can carry out indoor natural ventilation or forced ventilation to keep the indoor air fresh.
4.Water source requirements:
water source devices to meet the water demand of sprouts.
5.Cultivation container and substrate:
The cultivation substrate should be clean, non-toxic, light in weight, strong in water absorption and water holding capacity, and paper such as newsprint, wrapping paper, tissue paper, etc., which are easy to deal after use, as well as white cotton, non- Textile and perlite, etc.
6.Sowing:
Sowing is mostly carried out in plastic seedling trays. Before sowing, wash the seedling trays and disinfect them with lime water or bleaching powder, then rinse them with clean water, and then lay a layer of paper on the bottom of the trays to sow peas, Wheat, Buckwheat. However, the sowing method of toon and radish is different from that of peas.
Planting Notes:
1.It is recommended to choose seedlings that are exposed to light, such as white radish and carrot seeds
2.The light can be turned off before the seeds germinate, or the light board can be turned up after it sprouts out. (The highest part of the light board, the darkest brightness)
3.Do not place the light board too close to the seedlings. (Near is also possible, but the stems of the seedlings will be strong and not be too long
4.After the seedlings germinate, pay attention to the water level. If the temperature is high and the water has an odor, the water needs to be changed.
5.When the seedling reaches the dome, the dome needs to be removed.
6.It needs to be harvested before the true leaves (third leaves) appear.
7.Generally, the harvest time of seedlings will not exceed 20 days.
